Bathroom exhaust fans- there is no other substitute to get rid of stale air

Bathroom exhaust fans like range hoods are indispensable necessities in any home. Exhaust bath fans are necessary to get rid of foul odours, stale air and excess moisture in the bathroom. They also help keep the bathroom mirror clear of condensation. It is elementary knowledge that excessive moisture in an enclosed place can lead to a horde of problems. It is not only destructive for ceilings and walls as it destroys them structurally it also breeds bacteria, mold and mildew which are potential health hazards. Bathroom exhaust fans help prevent these hazards by removing extra moisture from the area.

While purchasing bathroom exhaust fans, checkout the HIV ratings which will let you know the energy-efficiency and noise level of the fans. The best ones use only up to 20 wattage and show a sound rating of less than 0.5 sones. Do not get tempted to buy brands without HIV ratings even if they are dirt cheap. Since these fans will be sued on a daily basis regardless of winter or summer, a bit of wear and tear is to be expected. The replacement parts should be easily available and the motor should be capable of continuous usage. The more expensive models come with a humidity sensor which starts the fan automatically once the humidity reaches a certain level.

There is actually no substitute for bathroom exhaust fans as windows or exhaust ducts are not enough to remove stale smells, air and humidity from bathrooms.
